This verse, or rhyme, was penned by Isaac Watts in the 1700s and was found in children's books. While I was unable to find historical information about Sarah Fernley because of not having details of location or age it is most likely she was familiar with the verse from her childhood. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDH5LpkhEEp2R6Wg3oMCPsLEaH8uLTxCF1oNuOYGbJbJbp0ZKX1WBp7ptW_G7z6oSrVNXktlCy2dwHs1nnTeXvnEs2df6SP1HBjxxB8hKlxfuJ41klIpe5JrUoE-NKjwIIbSKehP3ODx7zDH3-Q6Dc56s9oehc7oI0eQg60fceGWHSCMpRxK58_HJL/s4032/IMG_3553.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDH5LpkhEEp2R6Wg3oMCPsLEaH8uLTxCF1oNuOYGbJbJbp0ZKX1WBp7ptW_G7z6oSrVNXktlCy2dwHs1nnTeXvnEs2df6SP1HBjxxB8hKlxfuJ41klIpe5JrUoE-NKjwIIbSKehP3ODx7zDH3-Q6Dc56s9oehc7oI0eQg60fceGWHSCMpRxK58_HJL/w300-h400/IMG_3553.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The sampler is quite striking and dramatic all in black thread. Jane Bell!<p> Happy Valentine's Day! </p><p>I have a new release to share and it is filled with hearts and flowers and pretty red and pink so today is the perfect day to bring this fun sampler out! </p><p>Meet Jane Bell.... a reproduction sampler adapted from an antique in my collection. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj1JDff8506jEok9oDlJ8PUTe3TVje6x7JGXAMStouKFNwFDm688x60OxM8RnXmAOEyk-8vvywXGWtiUhFgGBFlWdqurT38we6k182xvEPTwjyB7vSrB_f2sD_VBsQCGjIrCOu195D_vUHqdtKYtkX-OD4N9fi8c2ZvBt61-SW6LeQ1FcnWraKM9K55=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEj1JDff8506jEok9oDlJ8PUTe3TVje6x7JGXAMStouKFNwFDm688x60OxM8RnXmAOEyk-8vvywXGWtiUhFgGBFlWdqurT38we6k182xvEPTwjyB7vSrB_f2sD_VBsQCGjIrCOu195D_vUHqdtKYtkX-OD4N9fi8c2ZvBt61-SW6LeQ1FcnWraKM9K55=w480-h640" width="480" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">Jane's original sampler (see video on my instagram @juststitchingalong) seemed to start as a sampler with a plan but Jane ran out of room and then used the bottom of the sampler for practice stitches, eyelets and satin stitches and such. I adapted the design to feature some of these elements and love the outcome! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">A darling sampler with sweet motifs that could also be done as a small pin cushion, ornament or scissor fob! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">My model was stitched on 40 count light mocha linen from Zweigart with Classic Colorworks cotton threads in: House Wine / Old Blue Jeans / Balsam Fir / Old Money / Holly Berry / Pine Needles. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"> The stitch count is 105 stitches wide by 88 stitches high. The pattern is in cross stitch over two with just a small bit of cross stitch over one (the two little birds on the line with Jane Bell's name). </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgNgnzCDK_oSQuR7rYXgmcnRJ1oEWqW1dHahWMTqco85TchJ8XyFuZ_ilTQiuy0GU0iBRgdUF4bvk5NXc-QmB99rhw8GZQ-77ULgwtTu3cpIMP9BnpOYtXt8GbNsWMQxgHz5OHBax5cSI8ZoS8do2TMx4Ih1E5Rl3wxASClsY50MKhUJ2dhlumae7xp=s1617" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1396" data-original-width="1617" height="345" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgNgnzCDK_oSQuR7rYXgmcnRJ1oEWqW1dHahWMTqco85TchJ8XyFuZ_ilTQiuy0GU0iBRgdUF4bvk5NXc-QmB99rhw8GZQ-77ULgwtTu3cpIMP9BnpOYtXt8GbNsWMQxgHz5OHBax5cSI8ZoS8do2TMx4Ih1E5Rl3wxASClsY50MKhUJ2dhlumae7xp=w400-h345" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">While it is not known when Jane stitched her sampler I would venture to guess it was from the 1800s. I have named it the TGA Redwork Sampler because the stitcher only included their initials, TGA, and not their name. So it is a mystery sampler of sorts but I do believe it is Italian or Italian-American based on the motifs used. </div><p>The stitch count is 302 wide x 118 high. I have stitched the model using 40 count R and R Reproductions linen in Espresso using all Gentle Art Sampler threads. A conversion to DMC is also provided although may give a different result. </p><p>Gentle Art: Bluebell / Cherry Wine (2) / Cottage Blue / Deep Sea / Grasshopper / Highland Heather / Midnight / Moonlit Path / Pomegranate / Punchberry / Schoolhouse Red (4) / Sunflower / Willow</p><p>OR DMC: 928 / 815 (2) / 926 / 924 / 370 / 3727 / 930 / 453 / 347 / 211 / 816 (4) / 742 / 744</p><p>Also included is an additional alphabet in the font used for the TGA so you can use to personalize if you wish!</p><p>The chart is available from your favorite shop which is done in a full-color chart OR pdf is also available with both color and b&w charts in my etsy shop <a href="https://www.etsy.com/listing/1094776227/tga-redwork-sampler-pdf-e-pattern?ref=listing_published_alert" target="_blank">here!</a></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BizCAvBA2WU/YVeNUg7ahyI/AAAAAAAALMI/0e2J0LnAVTEpJ_dyM1I-kJRG6sF1YlzLgCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/IMG_1391.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BizCAvBA2WU/YVeNUg7ahyI/AAAAAAAALMI/0e2J0LnAVTEpJ_dyM1I-kJRG6sF1YlzLgCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h480/IMG_1391.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Thank you for looking! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Happy Stitches Always. xxxxx</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4067654755156895804.post-7886632184198529812021-09-28T10:26:00.002-04:002022-01-04T10:13:12.659-05:00PDFs on ETSY!<p>You can find my designs now on ETSY! </p><p>This will give the option to the buyer if they prefer to get a booklet from their local or online stitching shop OR a PDF digital download for instant gratification. </p><p>The PDF digital downloads will have both color and black/white charts included as well as all the details found in the printed booklets!</p><p>You can visit my Etsy shop, JustStitchingAlongX <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/JustStitchingAlongX" target="_blank">here!</a></p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ruoyG0PN0_U/YVNFnP9lVSI/AAAAAAAALKo/CUDV1EUIBWI1Vn7dRFHemK0Ooje6OO2kgCLcBGAsYHQ/s710/Etsy%2Bshop%2Bcover.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="379" data-original-width="710" height="342" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ruoyG0PN0_U/YVNFnP9lVSI/AAAAAAAALKo/CUDV1EUIBWI1Vn7dRFHemK0Ooje6OO2kgCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h342/Etsy%2Bshop%2Bcover.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p>Favorite the shop to learn when new items are added! I hope you are all enjoying your Summer! and for those down under... Winter!
We are coming around the corner to #SamplerSeptember very soon! My Miss Mary Barker 1830 model is on display at Attic Needleworks in Mesa, AZ so if you visit be sure to take a look-see! The model was stitched using dmc thread but I have now created a silk NPI conversion which can be found on my instagram @juststitchingalong ! Here is a look at the pretty colors and my start from Monday night. I thought it would be great fun to have #MondayswithMary heading into #SamplerSeptember so come along and join me if you like! On Miss Mary Barker, or perhaps another sweet 'Mary' sampler!

In the meantime, I have been busy working on a few of my favorite Wips! Here is my August update on the Martha Dawson Sampler which is being done as a stitch a long following a month-to-month schedule. If interested in more info please find the Our Sampler Years group on Facebook. I have monthly Stitch with Me videos as we make progress along the year! I am using 100/3 au ver a soie silk on 40 count Old Sheep linen from XJudesign. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8CG_PbjuisQ/YR0V0qUkLoI/AAAAAAAALFs/jXm5ZK1FVjEQDvB9oEz88HlYLxueaUZTQCLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/IMG_9961.jpg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0px; text-align: center;"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8CG_PbjuisQ/YR0V0qUkLoI/AAAAAAAALFs/jXm5ZK1FVjEQDvB9oEz88HlYLxueaUZTQCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h480/IMG_9961.jpg" width="640" /></a>Next up is pic with me! holding my progress on Those Who Sing by the Drawn Thread. Such a fun stitch, I love all the birds and the pretty flowers done in satin stitch. I am doing this also as a stitch a long as a birthday SAL with Colette (Highway stitcher on Flosstube) as we both share the same birthday! This is the second year we have had a dedicated stitch a long for our birthday year. I am using the silk package from the Drawn Thread which was mostly Dinky Dyes silk - which I absolutely loved! On 40 count zweigart Summer Khaki linen. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lJpH1HjBwzA/YR0W-ke4wQI/AAAAAAAALF4/6L0c1jyjaREm6T5bNpJ50fw1P3xIz5HigCLcBGAsYHQ/s960/237580436_10223927966003658_2660780600729666829_n.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="960" data-original-width="720" height="400" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lJpH1HjBwzA/YR0W-ke4wQI/AAAAAAAALF4/6L0c1jyjaREm6T5bNpJ50fw1P3xIz5HigCLcBGAsYHQ/w300-h400/237580436_10223927966003658_2660780600729666829_n.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I did have a finish in July! - I was so surprised at how quickly this sampler stitched up! This is Ann Gott from NeedleWorkPress which is a dedicated stitch a long from Attic Needleworks this year. I chose to change the verse and add my initials, and also changed the Bandana color to dmc 816 for a brighter pop of red. I stitched this on 40 count Abecedarian linen from R and R Reproductions. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-youB7IWrnC0/YR0XeVa8eUI/AAAAAAAALGA/uknvi5nafekpp64p8O-Fziwm8jXj9-NjQCLcBGAsYHQ/s960/224230063_10223804008344794_5184114580302223716_n.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="922" data-original-width="960" height="614" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-youB7IWrnC0/YR0XeVa8eUI/AAAAAAAALGA/uknvi5nafekpp64p8O-Fziwm8jXj9-NjQCLcBGAsYHQ/w640-h614/224230063_10223804008344794_5184114580302223716_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And last night I wasn't sure what WiP to pull out next but settled on one I haven't seen in quite some time.... Elizabeth Furniss from Hands Across the Sea Samplers. I fell in love all over again with her. I am doing my sampler in dmc thread on 40 count vintage country mocha linen. I have some ideas to change things up but we will see how it goes. A freebie sampler from me to you!</p><p>Miss Mary Yerger 1859 is a sweet Pennsylvania German sampler that I reproduced from my personal collection. I stitched the model almost as Mary had stitched her own structuring some of the motifs and letters to give it some balance. I have also adapted it to add a special message at the bottom, Be Thankful Always! </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DqPk3hZcSAw/X77qSw4JI9I/AAAAAAAAK1A/fyNmqKx9VkUoeEe-UoeCgkCLvceNIUAvACLcBGAsYHQ/s2048/IMG_4346%2B%25281%2529.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1678" data-original-width="2048" height="328" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DqPk3hZcSAw/X77qSw4JI9I/AAAAAAAAK1A/fyNmqKx9VkUoeEe-UoeCgkCLvceNIUAvACLcBGAsYHQ/w400-h328/IMG_4346%2B%25281%2529.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I stitched the model on 32 count Apple Brown linen from R&R Reproductions using Ginny Thompson Flower Thread. It's been quite a while! <br />
<br />
I have been busy stitching and look forward to the colder months when I can stay in, stay warm, and stitch, stitch, stitch! I was inspired from one of my antiques to create a sweet ornament, a freebie gift to you, called Choose Joy. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-35Rv-ACedIg/Xf6Qf2eiawI/AAAAAAAAKcQ/kEPPW5jyn-gmpTelMFx5tqTOj00CG-F1gCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/image0.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-35Rv-ACedIg/Xf6Qf2eiawI/AAAAAAAAKcQ/kEPPW5jyn-gmpTelMFx5tqTOj00CG-F1gCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/image0.jpeg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I have chosen to make it into a perforated paper ornament but it would also be real cute done as a small pincushion. The stitch count is 51 wide x 43 high. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-G4nUPtM39Ew/Xf6Qe4FUWDI/AAAAAAAAKcI/Md6mJq1MEawdKOXqu_2LokIf_G-ml0gLgCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/image2%2B%25281%2529.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="679" data-original-width="679" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-G4nUPtM39Ew/Xf6Qe4FUWDI/AAAAAAAAKcI/Md6mJq1MEawdKOXqu_2LokIf_G-ml0gLgCLcBGAsYHQ/s640/image2%2B%25281%2529.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Here is a little sneak peek of some recent stitching..... Lots of pretty colors, like springtime! <br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am looking forward to the New Year and working on my WIPs, and especially starting on the Ann Roberts Sampler SAL which I will be leading in the Our Sampler Years facebook group. Each month we will be doing a part of it so I look forward to sharing it with you as we all stitch along! </div>

<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;">In between stitching I have been going to some fun markets. This was my first year visiting the Penn Dry Goods Market in Pennsylvania. I signed up for six of the lectures and learned so much about the history of floral samplers, Moravian needlework, Mary Linwood and more. If you have not heard of Mary Linwood check out this </span><a href="http://numberonelondon.net/2010/10/a-legacy-of-needlework-part-three-mary-linwood/" style="text-align: left;" target="_blank">link</a><span style="text-align: left;">. It was a fascinating series as well as a great market with wonderful quilts and antiques. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

And just last weekend I had a great time in Rhinebeck NY for the annual Country Living Fair. It was a perfect day for walking the Dutchess County Fairgrounds. There were so many unique items. Lots of inspiration everywhere! </div>

<br />
It has been a few months now since I have last updated the blog. I have been doing some stitching, really I have! Even through the winter, I found some places to go and fun things to do. <br />
<br />
I visited the Cloisters in NYC, a museum that is part of the MET that has medieval artifacts. It was my first visit there and so amazing to see the displays and pieces from centuries ago! There was also an antique card exhibit on display going back to the 1400s! Most of them were hand drawn or hand painted. There were some glorious tapestries to be seen, including the famous unicorn tapestries. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ccssV3tcNiE/VyEOuNWNtiI/AAAAAAAAEaU/n_xOEEvo4-Ymuak_MzfbtWlzj_DCkzyhQCLcB/s1600/IMG_7241.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ccssV3tcNiE/VyEOuNWNtiI/AAAAAAAAEaU/n_xOEEvo4-Ymuak_MzfbtWlzj_DCkzyhQCLcB/s640/IMG_7241.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I always manage to fit music in my life.... I visited Daryl's House twice! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First, seeing James Maddock, and, then again, for a Johnny Cash tribute on Johnny Cash's birthday! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Lots of fun!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_luhyr69AuE/VyEOtDa1Q9I/AAAAAAAAEaM/SeWr1QL1mZ8aWscZqjQ7rrqVEyTBv-UUgCLcB/s1600/IMG_7240.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_luhyr69AuE/VyEOtDa1Q9I/AAAAAAAAEaM/SeWr1QL1mZ8aWscZqjQ7rrqVEyTBv-UUgCLcB/s640/IMG_7240.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In order to get into Spring fever mode I went to two flower shows! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First, was to the Macy's annual flower show in Herald Square NYC. The theme this year was America the Beautiful and the displays were GORGEOUS! From Lady Liberty's torch to the Golden Gate Bridge and everywhere in between I was amazed at how they transformed the department store into a flower extravaganza! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8Mb6kNDWCCk/VyEOt_ME8OI/AAAAAAAAEaQ/jYTK8IX8IUwmgQcqrUiwjGBpoh_Lh7RqACLcB/s1600/IMG_7239.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8Mb6kNDWCCk/VyEOt_ME8OI/AAAAAAAAEaQ/jYTK8IX8IUwmgQcqrUiwjGBpoh_Lh7RqACLcB/s640/IMG_7239.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
From Macy's in the heart of Manhattan I then zipped up to the Bronx to the NY Botanical Garden to see the annual orchid show... Orchidelirium! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Orchids in every color and shape and bursting in beautiful color! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AtTwW3C7-w4/VyEOsOoG38I/AAAAAAAAEaA/b6eHSXZzaSIUld19BfK-H_4O43GJQD0iQCLcB/s1600/IMG_7238.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AtTwW3C7-w4/VyEOsOoG38I/AAAAAAAAEaA/b6eHSXZzaSIUld19BfK-H_4O43GJQD0iQCLcB/s640/IMG_7238.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Just a few weeks ago I found a Spring quilt show in Southbury CT by the Piecemaker's Guild. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Such an amazing array of talent and designs to be found..... from cats, to VW beetle van :), to a calendar quilt, even the Kiss by Klimt! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Just last weekend I went out with family and friends for some weekend fun. We went to the local German restaurant and enjoyed a beer and good eats. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The was even a stein locker for the regulars to keep their mugs at the ready! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This sampler is such a joy to be working on. It is so colorful, I think the young girl who stitched it almost two centuries ago used her linen and thread as her coloring book! </div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Today I received some wonderful stitch-y mail - the new premiere sampler from <a href="https://hands-across-the-sea-samplers.com/" target="_blank">Hands Across the Sea Samplers design studio</a>! Miss Mary Ann Bournes 1791 is such a gorgeous sampler! The chart is done wonderfully, with color and detailed history. So much to love with this one, the border, the bees, the sweet animals on the lawn, and, of course the birds! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Congratulations to Nicola and Sandra on their new venture. Their new website is chock full of wonderful details about samplers and helpful guides for stitchers. Please take a look see! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3pEJxXR3bAc/Vo25-tv4ErI/AAAAAAAAENE/-7cXaVOs4Uw/s1600/IMG_5582.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-3pEJxXR3bAc/Vo25-tv4ErI/AAAAAAAAENE/-7cXaVOs4Uw/s640/IMG_5582.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And New Year's Day I got a running start stitching on a SAL! This one is EN 1815 by Heartstring Samplery. It will be fun to see what everyone will do with this one, picking their own colors. I have chosen to use Nina's Threads, in Old Berry. Not sure if I have enough thread for the whole design so I may improvise with some other colors. I also grabbed some linen from my own stash, 32 ct PTP Legacy. This is a nice stitch on the 32 ct, easy on the eyes! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Kt1d51sHrtA/Vo265p2JKII/AAAAAAAAENQ/OACgRpJ4cYU/s1600/IMG_5497.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Kt1d51sHrtA/Vo265p2JKII/AAAAAAAAENQ/OACgRpJ4cYU/s640/IMG_5497.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So I hope you have all gotten off to a great start this New Year! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have also found the Bloglovin' app on my phone! Downloaded it today and realized it is a much easier way to keep up on reading all of your blogs. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Already the holidays seem like memory, although I am glad that there are still some pretty lights and decorations out and about. I took this photo on my way home from work today.... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Wishing you miles of smiles and stitches! xxxxxxxxxxxxxx</div>

Here we are at the end of the year. I usually love this time to go back through my blog to see how many finishes I had for the year. Well...... ummmmm.... I am so very sad to see that I had not a one! Nope! Nada! <br />
<br />
BUT, I did have a very fun year! One of the best I have had in probably ten years, so for that I am thankful. And I did have quite a lot of starts this year (or near-starts!). So that will be my focus going into 2016.....<br />
<br />
OK, big breath! Jenny Bean, Red House Sampler, Mary Gail, new repro Lucy, Hannah Pepper, Rachel Hyde, Ann Grimshaw, Ann Tarbox, Sarah Harris, and Heaven and Nature Sing! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TLr4rtkl30w/VoXBAguiRGI/AAAAAAAAELA/QG7s0xNXktI/s1600/WIP%2Bcollage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="568" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TLr4rtkl30w/VoXBAguiRGI/AAAAAAAAELA/QG7s0xNXktI/s640/WIP%2Bcollage.jpg" width="640" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
PLENTY to work on in the New Year! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In the past month, I did get back to the MET again, to see the sampler exhibit and the beautiful Angel Tree! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I even took a stroll from the museum past Central Park.... which was still in autumn color....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
Back again.... I have been having some trouble with my tennis elbow so not much stitching has happened in the last two weeks. However, I did get to SEE some stitching and TALK about stitching, and that is the next best thing! <br />
<br />
A few weeks back I headed into NYC on my birthday. I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the first time in about 20 years! There is a FANTASTIC! exhibit going on right now, called Fashion and Virtue, about textiles through the centuries. Some amazing pieces of clothing and, surprisingly, some needlework and samplers!! Including a very special visitor from the UK, the Jane Bostocke sampler (top right)!! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NHJJCIKNQsE/VlHOwIeLkmI/AAAAAAAAEAY/z5A_QtBXYmA/s1600/textile%2Bcollage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NHJJCIKNQsE/VlHOwIeLkmI/AAAAAAAAEAY/z5A_QtBXYmA/s640/textile%2Bcollage.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The exhibit is running through the beginning of January so if you have the opportunity to get there I say "Go, Go, Go!!" There is so much to see and explore ....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1ewhQNXvgns/VlHOz6CJ7nI/AAAAAAAAEAg/SzV9XAN_49Y/s1600/museum%2Bcollage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1ewhQNXvgns/VlHOz6CJ7nI/AAAAAAAAEAg/SzV9XAN_49Y/s640/museum%2Bcollage.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
It was a beautiful day that day so I also spent some time walking through Central Park, a first for me! The Autumn colors were gorgeous! <br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It was a fun-filled day for sure, and I hope to return during the holidays to see the exhibit again and the BIG TREE :) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As we usually do during this time of year, my family had our annual soup contest! Here I am in my chef's hat again with my soup... We had a theme this year and each had to pick a soup from a different country. I made Portuguese Kale and Sausage soup but, sadly, did not bring home the trophy this year... that honor went to Brazil! Always lots of fun! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-i8r6zbPs5XY/VlHT78xf-iI/AAAAAAAAEB4/REUTniZwrLE/s1600/soup%2Bcollage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-i8r6zbPs5XY/VlHT78xf-iI/AAAAAAAAEB4/REUTniZwrLE/s640/soup%2Bcollage.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And what is more perfect this time of year than a jack-o-lantern?! Thousands of them! :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I went to the Great Pumpkin Blaze! at the Van Cortlandt Manor in NY. Thousands and thousands of pumpkins carved and ablaze, it was such an amazing sight! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-541DTG-W6q8/VlHUwS-t80I/AAAAAAAAECA/51eAwA8Tuy4/s1600/blaze%2Bcollage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-541DTG-W6q8/VlHUwS-t80I/AAAAAAAAECA/51eAwA8Tuy4/s640/blaze%2Bcollage.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And just yesterday I got to see Chris from Tot Hill Farms! Always great fun when we have the chance to get together and catch up and talk stitching and so much more!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xESAiHo6_kw/VlHWG_9tvdI/AAAAAAAAECM/CEqK4nFqi4Y/s1600/12289516_10207999186005838_2958707130187046993_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xESAiHo6_kw/VlHWG_9tvdI/AAAAAAAAECM/CEqK4nFqi4Y/s400/12289516_10207999186005838_2958707130187046993_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So even though not much stitching there have been lots of fun times along the way. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is only days away now. I want to wish you all a wonderful holiday with friends and family. Count your blessings (and your stitches!), each and every one! xxxxx</div>

<br />
I have been diligently doing my exercises for the tennis elbow problem and happy to report I was able to do a bit of stitching this weekend! <br />
<br />
The Heaven and Nature Sing SAL started on the 15th and I was determined to put thread to linen. I did a bit each day since and here is what I have to show for it.... I absolutely love it so far!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fSOWRZMOZXY/ViQ0yFmUE3I/AAAAAAAAD4E/fSg8WKoh1-k/s1600/12079337_10206798644221319_8095116016479057196_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fSOWRZMOZXY/ViQ0yFmUE3I/AAAAAAAAD4E/fSg8WKoh1-k/s640/12079337_10206798644221319_8095116016479057196_n.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am so happy to have gotten in the groove and accomplished so much. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Even though it has been only a few weeks since I last wrote it has been a busy and fun time. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I did get to see Bernard Fowler one last time. I was fortunate to see him in Bridgeport CT, in a small club. He really puts on a rockin' show! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WS-FgVW5VOY/ViQ1pfk3cpI/AAAAAAAAD4M/y-CxsWd2nHo/s1600/12074803_10206786064066823_2273307756529763643_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-WS-FgVW5VOY/ViQ1pfk3cpI/AAAAAAAAD4M/y-CxsWd2nHo/s640/12074803_10206786064066823_2273307756529763643_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And this has been the PERFECT time for leaf peeping here in the New England area! This past weekend I took a ride to Rhinebeck NY to the Dutchess County Fairgrounds.....</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BeXyyB_BaHg/ViQ11cplcFI/AAAAAAAAD4U/aBGeRgAnznA/s1600/12105843_10206792434186072_5574802172766286222_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BeXyyB_BaHg/ViQ11cplcFI/AAAAAAAAD4U/aBGeRgAnznA/s640/12105843_10206792434186072_5574802172766286222_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
There was the NY State Sheep and Wool Festival.... what a fantastic festival! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--gA18pHRoDE/ViQ2iJricbI/AAAAAAAAD40/SfEf5h5DX2A/s1600/12072657_10206793860461728_6426980566388550153_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--gA18pHRoDE/ViQ2iJricbI/AAAAAAAAD40/SfEf5h5DX2A/s640/12072657_10206793860461728_6426980566388550153_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
It was definitely a feast for the eyes with color and inspiration at every turn.....from knitting to felting to rug hooking.......<br />

Since my last post, I had seen a new post on the Sarah Harris SAL blog.... out of the blue! So it inspired me to pull out all my supplies for her. She is quite a colorful sampler and will be a compliment to Lucy with the pinks and purples. To see more about her, the dedicated blog is <a href="http://needleprintsarahharrisstitchalong.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">here!</a><br />

Yes, I am still here even though my posts have been not so frequent. Sometimes the days seem to go by so swiftly and then other times I just don't feel I have enough stitching to show and tell. <br />
<br />
It seems we have jumped right into Autumn, my favorite season of all! <br />
<br />
My office had an employee arts show so I finally pulled my Mary Wigham sampler out of the closet and framed her up..... She is set loosely in the frame so as to protect her but now I think she will go right up on my wall as is! It was wonderful to see how creative all of my coworkers are in all sorts of mediums! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-45zEtCGeAy4/VhgUIKpDZHI/AAAAAAAADvs/q7bsZsn698g/s1600/12038479_10206694798705246_6080815868707723328_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-45zEtCGeAy4/VhgUIKpDZHI/AAAAAAAADvs/q7bsZsn698g/s640/12038479_10206694798705246_6080815868707723328_n.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
So there has been a bit of stitching happening, although wish it was more! I am suffering from tennis elbow and hoping for relief ASAP! <br />
<br />
Over the past couple of months I have been up to some fun things along with planning out some future stitching projects. <br />
<br />
Have had some German-style celebrating......<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cSEBnuWJu6Y/VhgTOq9fcdI/AAAAAAAADu8/6bvV9JChXT8/s1600/german%2Bcollage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cSEBnuWJu6Y/VhgTOq9fcdI/AAAAAAAADu8/6bvV9JChXT8/s640/german%2Bcollage.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Been to NYC! Here is a small forest growing right next to the MET! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XXYTyR6ssTU/VhgTb23t_9I/AAAAAAAADvE/wOBoAMcOs-Y/s1600/lincoln%2Bcenter.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XXYTyR6ssTU/VhgTb23t_9I/AAAAAAAADvE/wOBoAMcOs-Y/s640/lincoln%2Bcenter.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Everytime I see the MET it makes me think of the movie Moonstruck! :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kY82FiXuZ4k/VhgUcorzVgI/AAAAAAAADv8/baqcaQFox6Y/s1600/the%2Bmet.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-kY82FiXuZ4k/VhgUcorzVgI/AAAAAAAADv8/baqcaQFox6Y/s640/the%2Bmet.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The NYPL had a very special Frank Sinatra exhibit. I was so happy to finally get there to see it before it closed down. There was so many extraordinary things to see...many personal artifacts of Sinatras' from before he was famous to all through his career. Below is one of his bow ties, letters from fans and photos from Herman Leonard. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HJCJBItxiyY/VhgTcY-8dDI/AAAAAAAADvM/3eujFl_cXMo/s1600/Sinatra%2Bcollage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-HJCJBItxiyY/VhgTcY-8dDI/AAAAAAAADvM/3eujFl_cXMo/s640/Sinatra%2Bcollage.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And here is a jukebox chock full of Sinatra! I could play this all day long!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-u34dBADQVvY/VhgXzrECsgI/AAAAAAAADww/TvuzpTpMPH0/s1600/sinatra%2B3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-u34dBADQVvY/VhgXzrECsgI/AAAAAAAADww/TvuzpTpMPH0/s640/sinatra%2B3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
There have been so many pretty sunflowers this season... these I came upon at the Bridgeport Ferry!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6NIqVpy2gKo/VhgTn8DIJkI/AAAAAAAADvY/ZmE26QqtvJA/s1600/IMG_3542.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-6NIqVpy2gKo/VhgTn8DIJkI/AAAAAAAADvY/ZmE26QqtvJA/s640/IMG_3542.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Another favorite thing I do every Labor Day is go to the annual library book sale! Here are a few of my finds this year. So many people have recommended JoJo Moyes to me so can't wait to read her book. Just started The Girl on the Train but too soon to give my thoughts on it yet! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Qv-lHLIlf6s/VhgTnq7XyCI/AAAAAAAADvU/lYyCuHwlq6w/s1600/IMG_3592.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Qv-lHLIlf6s/VhgTnq7XyCI/AAAAAAAADvU/lYyCuHwlq6w/s640/IMG_3592.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And my fun time would not be complete without some live music in my world! And while the Stones are no longer in town, Bernard Fowler, backup singer with the Stones, has been and I have gotten to a few of his shows over the past month. He puts on a super rockin' show! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VxSqJkEMsCI/VhgUR1VppEI/AAAAAAAADv0/WZCWT4sx5bI/s1600/Bernard%2BFowler%2Bcollage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VxSqJkEMsCI/VhgUR1VppEI/AAAAAAAADv0/WZCWT4sx5bI/s640/Bernard%2BFowler%2Bcollage.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And for my stitching there has been some planning.... Kathy Barrick's Heaven and Nature Sing is soooo very sweet. There is a facebook SAL set up for Oct 15 and looking forward to starting this one! I went with linen and threads right from my own stash....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MgMJfPaLqK4/VhgUlXvbhUI/AAAAAAAADwM/zuryI6s4HS4/s1600/heaven%2Band%2Bnature%2Bsing.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MgMJfPaLqK4/VhgUlXvbhUI/AAAAAAAADwM/zuryI6s4HS4/s640/heaven%2Band%2Bnature%2Bsing.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And here is another sneak peek of Lucy! She is the reproduction sampler I have been working on.. I wish I was further ahead but this tennis elbow problem has caused a real crimp in my stitching time! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div>
Thanks to you all for your comments on my last post. I know my posts have been less frequent but there was just not enough stitching to show and tell! There have been a few projects in the works along with some Summertime fun too :)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Here is my Scarlet Letter Mary Gail sampler. She is really lots of fun! I am stitching her with dmc threads on 36 ct wren linen from Picture this Plus. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

June and July have flown right by. In the beginning of June I got to meet a fellow stitcher, Chris from Tot Hill Farm, who happened to be in Connecticut! We got together for dinner at a Turkish restaurant, which was so delicious! Yummy dips of hummus, carrot and eggplant...a beautiful colorful palette! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rVqC0eH-7hw/Vb03k1lirRI/AAAAAAAADmI/8WuxDNy1RXk/s1600/turkish%2Bdelight.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rVqC0eH-7hw/Vb03k1lirRI/AAAAAAAADmI/8WuxDNy1RXk/s400/turkish%2Bdelight.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And here I am with Chris! For those of you who also read Chris' blog you know she is on the left and I am on the right :) So much fun finally meeting. I hope our paths meet again. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
From reading your blogs I know many of you have been gardening and enjoying the Summer season outdoors.... I am not much of a gardener but I LOVE flowers, especially taking pics of them! At my office, there is a garden on the Town Green called the Parade Path. Here are some pretty pics from along the walk....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vzmLcIvrhlU/Vb04LL6QMdI/AAAAAAAADmY/EldkQwEaJwE/s1600/parade%2Bpath%2Bcollage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vzmLcIvrhlU/Vb04LL6QMdI/AAAAAAAADmY/EldkQwEaJwE/s640/parade%2Bpath%2Bcollage.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My "vacation" this year was a long weekend away... to Buffalo! Yes, to Buffalo! to see the Rolling Stones, of course! And, of course, it was Fantastic!! :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ol-WJhSgpP0/Vb05UcsvycI/AAAAAAAADm0/1pFgXR26Di0/s1600/stones%2Bcollage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ol-WJhSgpP0/Vb05UcsvycI/AAAAAAAADm0/1pFgXR26Di0/s640/stones%2Bcollage.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And I also spent a day in Niagara Falls!! I had not been there since I was a teen on vacation with my parents so I was very excited to go back again. It truly is a breathtaking sight! Rainbows everywhere! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Niagara Falls - US and Canada</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I drove up the Niagara Parkway in Ontario to a sweet little town on Lake Ontario... Niagara-on-the-Lake. The flowers are so gorgeous everywhere you go. The color is a feast for the eyes! </div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Niagara-on-the-Lake and the Niagara Floral Clock</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Enjoyed a wonderful al fresco Italian lunch before heading back to the Falls to see them all lit up for the fireworks show! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--BF-LNVO5cs/Vb07DGwnLpI/AAAAAAAADnA/N8qC9u8yM_A/s1600/niagara%2Bfireworks.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--BF-LNVO5cs/Vb07DGwnLpI/AAAAAAAADnA/N8qC9u8yM_A/s640/niagara%2Bfireworks.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Fireworks over the American Falls</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />So it was a whirlwind of fun in just a few days. I am still enjoying my Summer weekends from home. I visited my favorite spot by Candlewood Lake......<br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2zA0FCKjipI/Vb07lKhskMI/AAAAAAAADnM/zTMFR_aBr_Y/s1600/candlewood%2Blake.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2zA0FCKjipI/Vb07lKhskMI/AAAAAAAADnM/zTMFR_aBr_Y/s640/candlewood%2Blake.jpg" width="640" /></a><div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And spent some time working on stitching my first reproduction sampler. I have a real admiration now for the ladies who have done countless samplers like this for us to enjoy. It has been a learning process for me for sure! I have finally finished the charting process although I can see I have to make some tweaks along the way! I have finally started putting some stitches to linen and it is exciting to see it start to take shape. Here are a few sneak peeks of "Lucy"....</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
You may remember from my last post that I was in the process of moving.. It has taken a bit of time but I am finally all situated. Pictures hanging on the wall... and my stitching : )<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mjxI4HQhtec/VXSko9JBAKI/AAAAAAAADYk/J-eluqjvmWA/s1600/IMG_2841.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="598" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mjxI4HQhtec/VXSko9JBAKI/AAAAAAAADYk/J-eluqjvmWA/s640/IMG_2841.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have had to do a great deal of downsizing, lots of things sent to Goodwill, but of course not my stitching stash! I have sorted all my fabrics.... and yet with all this I still don't have the right size or count I need for my project to-do list! lol!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c4xq74m0uLY/VXSkpAA57lI/AAAAAAAADYs/f9gEEVlZYKI/s1600/IMG_2871.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="352" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-c4xq74m0uLY/VXSkpAA57lI/AAAAAAAADYs/f9gEEVlZYKI/s640/IMG_2871.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Gigi has found a new perch........</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GE7LBDwoYKs/VXSkpg-Ug5I/AAAAAAAADYw/JXaGABTqYE4/s1600/IMG_2877.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GE7LBDwoYKs/VXSkpg-Ug5I/AAAAAAAADYw/JXaGABTqYE4/s400/IMG_2877.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And I have found my stitching mojo again.....getting back to my many WIPs. Here is a bit of work on my Red House Sampler. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I0LZY6PtZjM/VXSksk2KOxI/AAAAAAAADZI/jawBPore77Y/s1600/IMG_2889.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I0LZY6PtZjM/VXSksk2KOxI/AAAAAAAADZI/jawBPore77Y/s640/IMG_2889.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Somehow since my last post, it turned from Spring to Summer..... Mother Nature has bloomed everywhere........</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0kgJniHFjwo/VXSksIpMHSI/AAAAAAAADZE/wGvYBu7AqN4/s1600/IMG_2956.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="466" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-0kgJniHFjwo/VXSksIpMHSI/AAAAAAAADZE/wGvYBu7AqN4/s640/IMG_2956.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I got back to NYC again..... met a friend and spent some time in Soho then headed uptown for a club show seeing the lovely Lisa Fischer....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--9_5-Er0XoA/VXSm8_lkbiI/AAAAAAAADZg/Qouk4zJVcyM/s1600/city%2Bcollage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--9_5-Er0XoA/VXSm8_lkbiI/AAAAAAAADZg/Qouk4zJVcyM/s640/city%2Bcollage.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have also started another new journey... I am charting my first reproduction sampler! It has been fun learning this process and I look forward to sharing more with you all in the months to come....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So Gigi and I are happy to be settled in our new place. Can't wait to see what all of you have been up to with your stitching. Hope you are enjoying a beautiful weekend! xxxx Krista & Gigi too!</div>
