A Late TUSAL

A few days late, but I was busy stitching and stitching Miss Mary Wigham!
I am happy to say that she is done now, just needs a pressing, so I will be sharing pics soon :D

My Tusal is finally filling up, there is the big ecru poof from that Mary motif that just had to GO!
Two hours going backwards but I am so happy that I made the change.
Have a wonderful Monday and happy stitching!

Almost to the finish line...

Yes!  I am so VERY close to finishing Miss Mary Wigham :D
Here's a quick little peek.

I have rounded the final corner!!  I have been working this pattern counter-clockwise for some reason, and have found that my stitches look best now when I work from bottom to top.
I feel like I have breezed thru the rest of this one and I think it is partly because I have started reading the chart right from my computer screen!  It sits way in front of me on my coffee table at a high magnification, like 300% and now I do not stop every few minutes to pick up the chart all squinty-eyed!

I have been playing with the colors, right to the very end, switching things here and there, and also plan to change out the color of this one here... it is just too much like the fabric color and I am not liking it!

So, two steps forward and one step back!
Have a great day with miles of smiles
and remember......

Happy stitchings!

Happy Weekend!

TGIF!!
The long holiday weekend is here!

Today I went to a local book fair to support the library.
They have such a wonderful selection, I feel like I am at the book store!
Here are some of my picks....

As you can see, I am a fan of Elin Hilderbrand, I enjoy her beach-y stories.  :D
Also picked up a few of JD Robb aka Nora Roberts for my Mom, she loves the 'in death' series, so I hunt out all the ones she does not yet have at the book fairs each year.
What authors do you enjoy??

I hope you all get to enjoy a long weekend!
I am looking forward to a relaxing one watching some great US Open tennis,
stitching, and doing some reading! :D
Enjoy! xxxxx

My Day Job...

Chris at Tot Hill Farm Stitches asked on her blog today 'what is your work area like?'
Well, I saw this right before leaving the office today so I snapped a few pics to share :D

I have a sampler that I made many years ago on my bulletin board next to me.
a school girl's wish by birds of a feather
I do accounting work for a municipality.  Here is my desk area... I have a nice view outside.  I have the Rolling Stones on my computer, and one thing you will always find on my desk is a cup of coffee!
In this pic, it looks pretty neat because it was time to go home!
6:00 on the clock! :D

And here is my bulletin board next to me with some of my favorite pics,
and definitely room for some more!

Thanks for stopping by my office!
Thursday is my Friday, so happy TGI-Thursday and have a fun weekend!

Summertime Fun!

Greetings everyone!  I hope you all have been enjoying your summer and keeping cool!
It sure has been a *HOT* one here, too much so for me!

It has been a busy and fun summer and I have not gotten much stitching done, imagine??  But finally this weekend I was ready to stitch, stitch, stitch!  WooHoo!
So I went back to Mary Wigham and did 3 more motifs, the pale pink, green, and blue/black combo.  Love the crown in that one....

And the big picture.....

Also, a few months back, I was the lucky winner of a giveaway from Nicole at Northern Expressions.  I won my choice of 2 of her fantastic designs, and I chose Celtic Garden and My Mother's Garden 2, and BONUS! she also sent me a copy of the Just Cross Stitch issue with her new pattern in it!
Thank you again, Nicole, SO much! :D

So the summer has been a lot of fun, I saw some great concerts...
Neil Diamond at Jones Beach, Long Island...

Bonnie Raitt at Mohegan Sun in CT....

And Charlie Watts doing some boogie woogie jazz in NYC...

Also saw some lighthouses this summer, this one was in the Long Island Sound....

And went to an open day at Maywood Gardens in Bridgewater CT.
What gorgeous gardens!

So that is a little of what I did this summer.
I have been been visiting your blogs as well, and you all seem to be having fun too ;)

Thanks for visiting!!
Have a fantastic week!
Keep stitching, and Keep Cool!!  :)
