I hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend. I am excited that it is Oscar Sunday today, I just love watching the awards show and red carpet. My favorite picks are still Moneyball and Brad Pitt, my fingers are crossed! But I think that the Artist with that cute little dog will be hard to beat!
My past week has been busy with work so I have not had as much time for stitching as I would have liked, but I have done a little more on Elizabeth Hancock. I finished the lady and one doggie, although a lot of frogging was involved! As you can see I decided to go with pretty in pink.....
First, I decided to do her face and hands over one thinking it would give better depth, but that didn't work and started frogging. Frogging is a pain in general as we all know...but frogging over one!? ugh! So then, I stitched her as charted but the color of her skin was white! She soooo desperately needed a tan! LOL So, more frogging! Then I decided to use the good-ol' stand-by dmc 951 for her face, and gave her blue-grey eyes and a pouty pink lip. I left the white at the collar and on her hands so it looks like gloves. As they say the third time is a charm! :D
Another accomplishment for me this weekend was getting organized! I have been stash binge-ing lately ~~more like out of control!~~, so there have been piles of charts, fabrics and threads all over. So I sorted it all out and kit-ted them all up. I have plenty lined up................
See, I told you... out of control! But so happy to have it all sorted out and ready to go!
The one on the right is just fabric and thread pulled... I am planning to do a Vierlander sampler but trying to pick out a color. I am thinking of going traditional, black or dark brown...have any of you done a Vierlander and what color did you use?

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend! I think I will be switching it up for today and do some more on Mary Wigham while enjoying the Oscars. I just caught a classic on TV now, Singin' in the Rain...certainly miles of smiles with that movie! :)))
Have a great week! Happy stitchings!! xxxxxxx

What a sweet lady in pink - and I just love those grapes! Enjoy the Oscars - sadly, they're on too late for us here in Europe :-)
oooooo! Your lady and her doggie look fabulous. I love the colors you chose. Job well done. :)
Your lady and the little pup are cute, as well as the bird, I love it!
I have been buying too and trying to kit up, that I am so unorganized I can't stand it. Maybe before the Oscar's I will take a break from stitching and organized alittle.
I'm not familiar with Vierlander Sampler, so I'm no help there.
Take Care!
Elizabeth Hancock is looking great and I love her in pink! Sorry about the frogging. And yes, over one frogging is the pits! There are a lot of kitted projects waiting for you! FUN, FUN, FUN!
I am looking forward to the Academy Awards, too. Just got back from seeing The Artist. I like to see all the nominated films, if possible. I didn't "get" The Artist till I saw it. Loved it!!!
Enjoy the red carpet - we'll be there in spirit!
OMG, I love Singin' in the Rain! Gene Kelly is my hero. :D I stitched a Vierlanden takeoff by Long Dog Samplers called Paradigm Lost. At the time I stitched it, I had no clue what it was based on. lol! I used a GAST thread -- I think it was called Black Raspberry Jam? It was nice cause it was very very dark, basically black, but it had some shades of purple to blue in it once in a while that gave an interesting flavor to the piece. Anyway, love your Elizabeth -- gorgeous! Bummer about the frogging though. And stash organizing. I so need to do that. If you want to see out of control, come to my house. That's nothing you have there. lol!
Lovely stitches and stash in waiting!
Wow! Nice stash you got there! Lovely little lady and her doggie...and I'm sorry the frog visited you :( Not familiar with Vierlanders...but those colours look delish!!
Frogging is a PAIN but your project is looking great so keep up the hard work.
Oh love the stash.
Gorgeous pink lady you're stitching--I think that is a wonderful color choice :) Enjoy all that lovely stash--you sure picked some great charts!
Fun stitching away over the weekend! But I know what you mean by frogging. I'm sure Elizabeth appreciates and happy to see her tanned face in the mirror. You did a right thing! And lucky duck has quite few kittied up for even more fun:)
I love your stitches ...
bisous de France

A girl can never gave too much stash!
Your pink lady is looking good. I like her gloves and White cowl and she is unique to your EH.
I like watching all the beautiful dresses at the Oscars.

Beautiful stitching! I just love that little dog on Elizabeth's sampler. I admit, I am not a big awards fan-watcher. My girls LOVE the Oscars but I'm not too pushed. I know--major party pooper here!
finally! Blogger allowed me to add to my blog list, so I now have yours added! Thanks for continuing to visit mine, despite my lack of visits!
Your Elizabeth is gorgeous!
